Homogyn Records Ltd. is a cooperative DIY record label on Turtle Island. We operate on the traditional territory of the Neutral, Anishinaabeg, and Haudenosaunee peoples in so-called ontario. The continued operation of neo-colonial forces here [and abroad] is shameful to say the least.
Our focus is the curation, distribution, and promotion of harsh noise wall, hardcore, underground rap, no wave, free improv, and other such outsider art; our intention is to stimulate union activity in the local music industry, and disrupt greed in the modern digital music industry.
Our aim is to use algorithmic social entertainment platforms to disseminate agitative propaganda pushing individuals away from allowing their thoughts to be formed passively during their online experience, in addition of course to a seizure of the so-called music industry by musicians. As such, any person interested in a collectivized and unionized stance for Canadian musicians should reach our email [below] if they are curious how they can get involved in this effort.
We are currently looking for experimental musicians interested in limited CD or tape runs. With the waning influence [and long term unprofitibility] of platforms like Spotify, we are interested in what platforming looks like in a post-exploitation post-streaming economy.
